Chichiicon-

Chichi Cavalcanti has been at the forefront of contemporary rug design for over a decade. Using colour as her working theme, Cavalcanti's rugs and wall hangings range from geometric abstractions to more fluid compositions where wool, silk, bamboo and linen are used as paint and the frame or tufting cloth as her canvas.

Drawing inspiration from mid 20th century abstract painting movements and modernist architecture, Cavalcanti has developed a unique body of work that uses colour, pattern and composition to create unique rugs and wall hangings. Her versatile designs can be executed in wool, linen, silk or bamboo and are available in a broad range of colours and finishes.

Her work is well known within the design industry, being regularly commissioned for residential, commercial and contract projects.

Cavalcanti's rugs are not only differentiated by their design, but also by their high production standards. Her contract quality hand tufted rugs, used for offices, hotels and high end residential projects, are hand made in Europe with the finest materials and comply with British and EU Health & Safety regulations. Hand knotted rugs are made in Nepal and fully certified by the Rugmark Foundation, ensuring ethical production values and high standards of quality.

Cavalcanti's rugs are produced on a commission basis in any shape, size and quantity. They are of contract quality and suitable for corporate, retail, hospitality and high-end residential projects.
