Desso has a packed programme planned for this year’s festival exploring ‘Personalisation, Individuality and Uniqueness’. The themes underpin the talks, workshops and activities each day and a unique art installation by Foldability designer Kyla McCallum will be unveiled in the showroom. The installation celebrates Desso’s award winning ‘Transitions’ carpet collection and showcases Kyla’s unique intricate paper pleating.
Programme highlights include two inspiring talks: Desso and Tarkett invite Trend Forecaster Scarlet Opus to share the latest thinking on Personalisation and Individuality in Design; the second sees design journalist Katie Treggiden ‘In Conversation’ discussing ‘The Quest for Identity’ and the role that identity and authenticity play in contemporary interiors.
Celebrating the handmade revolution and the ever-growing interest in craft and individual skill, Desso is holding an exhibition of work featured in the recent Hoxton Mini Press book the ‘Makers of East London’.
Origami and printing workshops are taking place, as well as photography sponsored by Tarkett – to celebrate their new Play collection. Not to be missed events are the ever-popular Drawing at Work hosted by Trevor Flynn and ‘The Floor is Yours’ open mic jam.
All activities take place at the Desso showroom, 23-25 Great Sutton Street. For a detailed schedule and to book places visit www.desso.co.uk or follow Desso on Twitter @Desso_uk
