Piaval to make CDW debut

The Italian company Piaval will debut at #CDW2018. Head over to Design Fields DF21, for the presentation of a new elegant chair and two armchairs with a contemporary style that do not give up stability and comfort, the main characteristics of all Piaval production.

PIPE is the new model by the well-established duo Vicente Garcìa and Cinzia Cumini recently named art directors of the company. It transcodes an object of ancient tradition, the pipe, a symbol of refinement, reflective attitude but also of a cultured sociality and a capacity to taste life slowly, drawing satisfaction from what is beautiful. The most immediate evocative reminder is the ring that separates and joins the back leg of the seat to the element that rises to support the backrest. The absence of beams gives the chair a lightness and a simplicity compensated by a technological device which guarantees its solidity. It is realised in solid beech and can be customised in a refined range of wood essences with the joining ring contrasting.

The two new armchairs are signed by architect Laura Silvestrini.

A style iconic coat inspired the name given to the TRENCH armchair, sharing the timeless “must-have” belt softly laid at the waist. A tubular element in curved wood surrounds the backrest and marks the ‘waistline’. The upholstery, both on the front and back of the backrest, is draped in slight casual chic ripples. The structure is in solid ash or walnut wood and can be customised perfectly suited to the needs of the hotel and restaurant sector.

MACARON is an armchair with a refined and contemporary aesthetic. The model is a two-volumes project, distinct but of a perfectly calibrated design of lines that make up its unique profile. The first is the shell – padded, intimate and enveloping – supported at the base by a curved wooden profile that ends in the front legs. The second is composed of the precise overlapping of two elements: the structure and the soft round cushion of the seat. It is available in ash or walnut wood and is characterised by details that distinguish the Made in Italy craftsmanship.
