Uncommon Projects is an award winning bespoke plywood furniture company founded by architect Alan Drumm and product designer James Hoy in 2011.

Interested in the benefits of using plywood over industry standard chipboard, they set about creating their signature plywood cabinet system. Working almost exclusively in the highest quality hardwood-veneered birch plywood, their work has a distinctive style, featuring exposed plywood edges with bespoke coloured doors.

Key to the success of every Uncommon Project is the connection between the interior architecture and the furniture. Alan’s background in architectural design means he is uniquely qualified to interpret the brief and collaborate with clients, interior designers and architects to create outstanding work that truly belongs in the space.

All furniture is designed and manufactured at their workshop in London where they also opened their show space (by appointment only) in December 2017. This is their first time showing at CDW.
