Actiu at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026 An immersive showroom programme for CDW26 exploring neuroarchitecture and wellbeing
Leading commercial furniture manufacturer, Actiu, will open its London showroom doors (Seward
Street, EC1V 3PA) to designers, architects and industry professionals for Clerkenwell Design Week
2026. Actiu will host a programme of immersive workshops and talks throughout the week, inviting
visitors to experience how design and science can shape the way we feel, think and work.
Programme highlights
DESIGNING WITH COLOUR, CREATING WITH INTENTION
Introducing a partnership with John Booth, a London-
based illustrator and product designer celebrated for his
vibrant, multi-disciplinary approach. His work blends
fashion, ceramics and furniture, characterised by bold
colors and playful graphics. Booth’s joyful aesthetic has
led to high-profile collaborations with brands like Fendi
and Globetrotter.
Guests will explore the role of colour in shaping spaces
and emotions, translating ideas into their own ceramic
tiles inspired by Mediterranean design. An intimate and
creative session for architects and designers, this
hands-on workshop offers an opportunity to connect
and create.
Creative Ceramics Workshop - 16:00, 19th May
WHERE SCIENCE MEETS SPACE
Actiu will be joined by Elizabeth Nelson, a prominent
voice in the field of neuroarchitecture, focusing on how
the built environment and workplace directly influences
human biology, mental health and productivity. Her work
bridges the gap between data-driven neuroscience and
architectural design to create "healthy" buildings.
Elizabeth will be joined in conversation by Studio
Banana and Actiu, moderated by Jeremy Myerson. This
session will delve into the relationship between design
and human behaviour, combining scientific insight with
real-world applications, including the principles behind
Actiu’s upcoming showroom refurbishment. A
conversation that goes beyond design, into how spaces
make us feel.
Keynote Session - 11:30-12:45, 20th May
The “Mediterranean Lab” Concept – Showroom Refurbishment with Studio Banana
Actiu will also be offering an exclusive first look at the upcoming refurbishment of its London
showroom. Developed in partnership with international design studio Studio Banana, the vision for
28 Seward Street marks a shift from a traditional product display to a multi-layered brand experience:
the “Mediterranean Lab.” This future transformation is rooted in the principles of neuroarchitecture
and Actiu’s “Life Friendly Spaces” philosophy, aiming to create a dynamic ecosystem where science
and well-being converge with its Spanish heritage.
Visitors will be the first to explore the design drivers behind this evolution, including the “Castalla
Sky,” a central lighting installation designed to bring the circadian rhythms of the Mediterranean to
London, and a new Permeable Spatial Logic that prioritises human connection and transparency.
This teaser experience serves as a tangible manifesto for Actiu’s future, inviting the design
community to step out of the city and into a sanctuary designed to foster creativity and positive well-
being.
