Plank Hardware makes its Clerkenwell Design Week debut with three new launches rooted in material contrast
Plank Hardware, the UK-born interiors brand known for its design-led decorative hardware, arrives at Clerkenwell Design Week for the first time this May, presenting two new hardware collections - ESBEN and PEYTON - alongside its best-selling lighting collaboration with Good Bones. Across all three launches, there’s one shared idea - that the most interesting interiors are built from finishes that com plement each other rather than match.
Mixed metals are having a moment in interiors, moving beyond a styling device into something more considered. The tension between finishes - warm alongside cool, polished with brushed - is increasingly being used to bring depth, character and versatility to a space. Plank Hardware has long worked within this territory, and the new collections build on that thinking. Neither trend-driven nor nostalgic, they’re designed for layered interiors where materials are given room to speak.
Tom Revill, co-founder, Plank Hardware: “More and more we’re seeing customers naturally mixing finishes across handles and backplates. With ESBEN, we’ve taken that idea a step further - introducing mixed finishes within a single piece, so the contrast is built in from the outset.”
Leanne Kilroy, Good Bones: “The real rule with mixing metals is there is no rule. Do what you love. And the more metals you have the more freedom you have to play”.
