In total there are 4 models of the acoustic cork tiles: Brickx, Morse, Sillon and Parenthese. Each of them available in two colors.

The sustainability aspect of cork is a key element of the project. It is a completely renewable material that canbe recycled. It comes from the bark of the cork oak tree, which is manually harvested every nine years, as itneeds time to regenerate. Its production does not cause or contribute to deforestation.

With the Brickx and Morse cork tiles, the idea was to bring the outside in and add a more natural element to aninterior. Both concepts come from the same inspiration, all those historic and sometimes very graphic brickwalls that can be seen around cities and in the countryside.

“Sillon" means "groove" in English, just like the small grooves found on LPs or the furrows in a freshly plowed field. The concept was born while passing by an old Art Deco villa built with slim yellow bricks used horizontally andvertically to define the facade and its decorative element, with deep joints between the bricks.

The whole idea behind the Sillon concept was to find a way to create a cork module, a cork tile, that would appear larger than it really is, where the seams between each square module would pretty much disappear, allowing the creation of a wall with expanding patterns.

The Parenthese cork tiles are modular cork wall panels that thanks to their visual simplicity, size and contrast between a soft curved surface and a pair of straight edges offer the possibility to create a lot of different patterns and designs with one single module. Their length is equal to two times their width so they can easily be combined in different directions to create larger squares of two or four modules placed in different directions.

Their shape and logic was very loosely inspired by some wooden interior wall panels from the 1950’s and 60’sthat had small ribs but with a twist since their oversized dimensions give them their unique personality. Their soft curved shapes are meant to create a soothing effect and a welcoming atmosphere in a room while still making a real statement.
