CerQuadro by Tonalite
CerQuadro was conceived with a specific goal in mind: to transcend the traditional concept of ceramic wall tiles.
No longer a surface where technical and functional aspects predominate, but a design and decorative element capable of creating visual identity and architectural rhythm.
The project starts with a 15×15 cm square glazed ceramic tile, available in black and white finishes, glossy or matte, in which a circular recess is carved out. A 10 cm diameter ceramic element is inserted into this space, conceived as a chromatic and tactile accent that becomes the system’s hallmark.
The circle represents the expressive heart of the collection: available in 11 glossy colors and 11 matte colors, it introduces a textural and chromatic contrast with the tile’s surface. The result is a balance between geometric rigor and creative freedom, where the square structures the space and the circle animates it.
The project introduces a modular composition principle: the square base is available in various configurations—central hole, side hole, corner hole, double corner hole, and hole-less tile—allowing for the creation of ever-changing designs. By arranging the modules, the circle can appear whole, shared across multiple tiles, or fragmented into unexpected geometric shapes, generating dynamic patterns that change with orientation and installation. The installation of the base and the circle is simple and similar to that of standard ceramic wall tiles.
Thanks to the combination of shapes, cuts, and colors, CerQuadro allows you to transition from minimalist, monochromatic compositions to more vibrant and decorative configurations. Every installation becomes a graphic design, capable of adapting to both contemporary spaces and more experimental settings.
CerQuadro is not just a tile, but a compositional system: a small ceramic element that multiplies the design possibilities of the surface and can be used to clad walls, structures, counters, architectural screens, or furniture elements, becoming an integral part of the spatial design. The result is a minimalist yet extremely versatile ceramic system, where the square forms the structure and the circle introduces movement, color, and character. With CerQuadro, the surface is not merely a covering: it becomes composition, form, and architecture.
