Designed by Patricia Urquiola, Insula transforms the traditional communal seating typology of the Arab majlis into a contemporary modular sofa system defined by balanced proportions, architectural horizontality and adaptable compositions. The collection features low modular volumes with smooth contours and a distinctive roll backrest that reinforces its horizontal visual identity while providing ergonomic comfort. Built around a flexible modular logic, Insula can be configured into multiple seating arrangements suitable for hospitality, workplace, residential and outdoor applications. Aluminium bases, integrated side tables and durable upholstery materials allow the system to adapt to different spatial contexts while maintaining a calm and sculptural architectural presence. Conceived as a platform for gathering, relaxation and social exchange, Insula combines modular flexibility with carefully resolved proportions and tactile comfort.
