Lollipop Chair
For Clerkenwell Design Week, British design brand Deadgood are launching Lollipop, a robust timber chair that takes its cues from the humble wooden lollipop stick.
Grounded in the sturdy simplicity of its namesake, Lollipop uses traditional joinery techniques, with each component pressed from plywood to strike a balance between expressive character and raw durability. The design pushes the limits of thin materials, using refined dowelling and clever supports to create a rock-solid frame that still feels visually light.
Inspired by the smooth, rounded ends of those classic summer treats, each component is mapped out with a clear purpose, ensuring every curve feels deliberate. This seat breaks away from the stiff habits of office furniture, offering a bold, sculptural look that brings a real sense of nostalgia to the room.
Lollipop is a piece that refuses to grow up, injecting a sense of welcome immaturity into even the most serious workplace setting, all while maintaining a super light silhouette that’s built to handle the daily grind.
Visitors to Clerkenwell Design Week (19-21 May) can experience the new product first-hand at the Deadgood showroom, located at 46 Old Street, London EC1V 9AQ.
