Pompei by Tonalite
A palette of nine natural earth tones
White, Black, Ochre, Brown, Ivory, Green, Light Blue, Aqua, Gray. Nine colors chosen not from the imagination, but from nature itself: the pigments of clay, the patina of tuff, the green of wild grasses, the light blue of thermal waters. Each shade is a direct reference to the landscape; each combination tells a story of places and layers.
Two formats for infinite compositions
The 19.4 × 19.4 cm square format establishes the structure, creates rhythm, and defines the visual texture of the space. The 19.4 × 4.7 cm strip introduces dynamism and detail, breaks up repetition, and suggests direction. Sharing the same base measurement, the two formats integrate with geometric precision into freely combinable compositions.
Thanks to through-body coloring technology, the pigment penetrates the entire thickness of the ceramic body. The color is not a surface film: it is the very nature of the material. A technical advantage that translates into lasting aesthetic durability, even on surfaces subject to intense wear.
The matte surface of Pompei does not reflect light—it absorbs it. Every shade gains depth, every texture becomes perceptible. The matte finish enhances the quality of the natural pigments and gives the installation a refined, never mundane effect.
Pompei invites us to consider the grout line as a design element. When paired tone-on-tone, it blends with the tile to create a continuous, almost monolithic surface. When chosen as a contrast, it becomes a graphic element that emphasizes the module’s geometry and amplifies the composition’s personality.
Pompei does not imitate nature—it distills it. Every color is a sediment, every format a measure of time.
