ECONYL® REGENERATED NYLON
No Waste. No new resources. Just endless possibilities.
Our appetite to create new products and buy new products is infinite. The planet's resources aren't. But it's okay because we can have both: new products and a better environment.
Nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world is transformed by Aquafil into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It's exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon is a product that can help you close the loop. Made from waste, it's infinitely recyclable and can unleash infinite possibilities for makers, creators and consumers.
The ECONYL® brand is not just a yarn but represents a new way of thinking, a way to reconcile the desire for innovation with the constant commitment of the Company to protect the environment.
It's all part of the ECONYL® brand vision to make the world a better place by pioneering closed-loop regeneration processes and delivering sustainable products.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon opens up endless possibilities for architects, designers and carpet producers.
Designers, architects and carpet producers use ECONYL® regenerated nylon when they need a sustainable ingredient that performs beyond their client’s expectations.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon performs exactly the same as brand new nylon but can give you a sustainability edge.
Moreover, ECONYL® carpet fibres are eligible for LEED® points, as part of the definition of worldwide standards for eco-friendly buildings. So you can create performance-driven carpets, carpet tiles and rugs while giving your clients an innovative sustainability solution.
ECONYL® behind the scenes.
The idea started thanks to the intuition of Aquafil President & CEO, Giulio Bonazzi, who has always had a very precise vision of how the company should be. The project, therefore, is part of a strategy to convert a business from linear to circular, the only way to thrive and keep up with the challenges of a rapidly changing market.
A revolution that goes from the classic "take – make -waste" to "take waste, produce products, and take back what would be otherwise destined for landfills" without using raw material from fossil sources.
ECONYL® regenerated nylon turns waste problems into fashion and interior solutions. It’s made by recovering nylon waste from around the world, like fishing nets from the aquaculture sector, fabric scraps from industrial mills and carpets that would otherwise go to landfill – and turning it into virgin quality nylon yarn for the fashion and interior industries.
