Inspired by the eponymous work by Oscar Wilde, the architecture studio LA ERRERÍA presents an intervention at Clerkenwell Design Week 2026 that reimagines the historic English garden as a social infrastructure. Through Tile of Spain ceramics from the brands ADEX, CEVICA, CIFRE CERÁMICA, CRISTACER, DECOCER, EL BARCO, HARMONY, LA PLATERA, PORCELANOSA, STN CERÁMICA, UNDEFASA and WOW DESIGN, the installation redefines de garden, moving it away from its aristocratic legacy towards an open and welcoming environment for encounter and pause. The proposal unfolds through four parterres, each evoking a season—autumn, winter, spring and summer—and creating a dynamic sensory journey.
Spanish ceramics act as both a structural and expressive element throughout the project, shaping furniture and sculptural elements that experiment with diverse finishes, colours and textures. Visitors are invited to engage with the space: to wander, pause, sit and observe, turning the garden into a setting for contemplation and conversation.
Organized by IVACE International, the Chamber of Commerce of Castellon and ASCER, the design by LA ERRERÍA for Tile of Spain transforms the garden of the Order of St. John into a contemporary outdoor refuge for rest and social interaction.
