As part of this exciting project, pupils were given the opportunity to step into the role of designers, architects, and creators, developing their own unique structures to either complement the surrounding environment or completely reimagine the space. This hands-on experience was designed to inspire creativity, innovation, and forward-thinking design.
Working with specialist sculptors, Digital Technology leads and our own Head of Art, pupils experienced expert knowledge and input towards their creations.
Across a dynamic three-day programme, pupils took part in a series of engaging workshops, including online 3D digital design sessions, a practical sculpture workshop, and an art-focused sketching session. Each stage allowed them to explore different aspects of the creative process—from generating initial ideas and visual concepts, to building detailed digital models, and finally bringing their designs to life as physical sculptures.
This immersive experience not only encouraged pupils to think creatively and push boundaries, but also helped them develop valuable skills in design, problem-solving, and visual communication. By the end of the project, each pupil had taken their idea on a complete journey—from concept to creation—resulting in innovative, thoughtful designs that reflect both their imagination and their understanding of the built environment.
