Going with the FLOW at CDW2019

Shaw Contract has a packed schedule of exciting activities during CDW2019… working with exciting new design talent and showcasing some innovative new products. Its theme of FLOW includes a collaboration with multidisciplinary young designer Lois O’Hara.

For Clerkenwell Design Week, which this year celebrates its 10th Anniversary, and as a design leader in flooring solutions and surfaces, Shaw Contract has invited Brighton-based artist and graphic designer Lois O’Hara for a takeover of its showroom at 33 Great Sutton Street, EC1 and to go with the FLOW.

The theme FLOW represents a meeting point of both artist and flooring manufacturer, and the collaboration will explore the way people interact and move within an internal or external space. Along the way it embraces colour, light, texture and movement, and features Lois’s own artwork inspired by colour and a love of the sea, while capturing memories and reflecting the stopping of time.

Often her installations can be seen to include drips, waves and the illusion of motion – take a look around to see these inspiration points interpreted in the showroom, and you also have a chance to win an exclusive Lois O’Hara poster each day.

Rising talent Lois O’Hara has transformed spaces from the interior at the OXO Tower in London to a run-down public basketball court in Saunders Park, Brighton, into an eye-popping works of art.

#cdw19FLOW will also see an exciting installation to accompany Lois’s work. A revolutionary Instagram powered mosaic artwork will be created in real time from visitor’s photos in the showroom, and there is a branded takeaway for every visitor with a print out of their photo!

There is also a first look at Shaw Contract’s new Rigid Core LVT collection called concrete + composed which will be installed at the 33 Great Sutton Street, EC1 showroom, and represents an exciting combination of resilient flooring working alongside carpet tile, popular in today’s commercial interiors.

Finally there is a chance to take part in a poster workshop to create your own piece of unique art, run by illustrator and design duo RUDE Design; and each day CPD sessions featuring Shaw Contract’s new colour forecast presentation – ColourConnect.
