ICON at 20. In conversation with Mimi Shodeinde + BRIK Chocolate Workshop
ICON Editor Jessica-Christin Hametner chats to, Miminat Shodeinde, a British-Nigerian designer born and raised in London. Mimi's work dovetails an artistic aesthetic with architectural discipline, seeking to align with the prosaic with the poetic. Mimi's work has been exhibited at the Design Museum in London and were included in Phaidon’s acclaimed book, Woman Made, both in 2021. Her designs have been featured in multiple publications and she was named as one of eight women breaking the design mould by FT How to Spend it in 2022.
BRIK Chocolate Workshop
Is there a craft more delicious and enticing – and underrated – than the art of chocolate sculpting? Award-winning chocolatiers specialising in edible textures and architectural surfaces, Brik Chocolate is rethinking how chocolate should be eaten and experienced. Using only natural colours and flavours, Brik creates tiles and domes inspired by terrazzo, concrete, marble, and other materials that look deceptively like the real deal.
Tickets include entry to the talk with an opportunity to pose questions to the guest speaker, a BRIK chocolate workshop as well as a continental breakfast.
