Dr Rhys Jones
My name is Rhys Tancock‑Jones, and I am a Chartered Biologist with a specialism in Clinical Genetics. I currently design and develop molecular in‑vitro diagnostic assays for infectious diseases, bridging genomic science with practical, real‑world healthcare solutions. My early research centred on Tuberculosis genomics and next‑generation sequencing, discovering faster and more accurate ways to address outbreaks. More recently, I translated my skills into the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, developing new ways to safely manufacture vaccines and diagnose diseases respectively.
My broader scientific interests lie in evolutionary biology and emerging de‑extinction technologies, with a particular fascination for how our molecular architecture continues to adapt in response to the modern environment. I am motivated by the intersection of biology, innovation, and the evolving narrative of humanity’s place within a rapidly changing natural world.
