Artists and designer sisters Nicole and Petra Kapitza founded their studio Kapitza in 2004 in the creative hub of East London and have since gained a global following for their distinctive and colourful art. Their mission is to colour the world with positive and uplifting works of art and they believe that colour has the power to make us feel better in ourselves and our communities.

Kapitza collaborate with international brands and institutions creating bold large-scale murals, pop-up events, uplifting hospital installations, dynamic public art commissions, intelligent textiles and colourful products as well as publishing their inspiring artist books, limited edition prints and innovative studio projects.

Kapitza has published several volumes on colour and pattern, and their work was included in the 2019 book, “Designs of our Time” by The Design Museum. In 2013 they were nominated for the Museum’s award, Designs of the Year.
