At Maynard, the team believes that mobility is a fundamental pillar of the modern city. Truly liveable neighbourhoods are those that prioritise health, connectivity, and inclusive ways of getting around.
For this reason, they are launching a campaign titled ‘Streets Ahead’ to explore the role of active infrastructure in shaping the future fabric of cities.
As designers, they are as interested in the questions as they are in the answers. Beginning at London’s Clerkenwell Design Week, they will be on the road, engaging in conversations with riders and residents about how streets feel both underfoot and under wheel.
They ask: what does an accessible streetscape actually look like? Who is left behind as cities accelerate? And how do walking and cycling integrate into urban networks originally built with cars in mind?
Visitors are invited to join them at their pop-up mobility kiosk throughout the festival to share what they feel is holding their streets back.
