A living outdoor installation called The Pulse of Becoming explores the cyclical nature of death, rebirth, and life. Originating from the hourglass shape, cellular mitosis, and the yin-yang concept, two opposing crescent shells that represent dependency and balance seem poised in tension.
Through an interaction between earth-based elements like bamboo and clay embedded with chia seeds and industrial materials like steel and tensioned wires, the piece brings the concept to life.
The sculpture can develop, mature, and change over time as the seeds slowly sprout and the bare surfaces turn green. Viewers experience the installation as a live process taking place in real time rather than as a static item as they watch this obvious transition from deterioration to rebirth.
